Woweeee! I just received my new Teresa Collins Stampmaker from Marti Willis at Pezadoodle. I love this new machine and have been "playing" with it! It makes high quality polymer stamps of your own design or actually comes with some great designs that you can create. I haven't perfected one of my own stamps yet but as soon as I am totally happy with my creation I will post a pic!
Marti is also having a Viva Decor Blog Party at Pezadoodle Design. Marti is an incredibly talented person and you will absolutely love her blog! Hope on over and check it out asap!! Great prizes to be found!!

...Christmas Card and New Challenge!

I have been busy playing with my new Imagine and trying to get some challenges done. I have one card to post that I finished for Christmas and a Challenge at Simply Scrapping Copic Corner. Our challenge was to create a card using Caucasian Skin Tones and Brown Hair with Highlights. I hope you enjoy! I hope you love this image by Mo Manning as much as I do!! I think she is just beautiful and love how she dressed up my card. I have so much catching up to do on making cards as I have been under the weather for the past couple of weeks! Trying to get my Mojo going as this is definitely not the time of year that it needs to be straying! LOL! Please leave some comments!

....Sending you Butterfly Kisses!

Butterfly Kisses". I used the Imagine to print and cut out the butterfly sentiment and just love how it came out! My image is "Princess tu-tu" from Elisabeth Bell and her images are amazing!! I love them too! The papers are from DCWV the summer glitter stack, I think... The front of the paper pack has come off so I am not sure which one it is.
Thank you so much for stopping by and I would love it if you would become a follower and leave a comment! I thrive on comments good or bad as I would love to have your opinion or suggestions!!

....Happy Halllween and Best Witches~!

"Best Witches" Tilda! I created her for the Copic Challenge at Simply Scrapping. The recipe called for a Halloween Card and it must use Orange and Black. I used Copics C9, C7, C5, C3, C1, and C00 for Tilda's dress, hat, and shoes. I used the gold Spica pen on the buckles and buttons. I also added straw sticks to the broom but they don't show up to well in this picture. The pumpkins are from Cindy Echtinaw's Design Stamps Of Stamping Scrapping that she operates with her darling husband Kevin and I colored these with YR09, YR07, YR15, and YR12. The sentiment Best Witches is also from Cindy's design stamps. I have to tell ya these are really high quality great stamps! You can get them at her store that she operates with hubby Kevin. The bat is printed and cut with my new Imagine!

.....Challenge Cards..!!

"I Hope You'll Dance" and image by Mo Manning and it called Mummu! Isn't she the cutest thing? I just love her! She makes me smile and just feel good all over. I have been running around the house singing "I Hope You'll Dance" all day long! LOL! "I Hope You'll Dance" was created for another Copic Challenge at Simply Scrapping in which the recipe called for coloring with grays, either hair or metal. I thought Mummu's gray hair would be perfect for this and really love the way she turned out! The music frame borders were printed with my Imagine however it was my first Imagine and I had to cut them out by hand! You wouldn't believe how much faster the new Imagine is compared to me spending hours cutting these out by hand! Amazing! I inked them up with Broken China Distress Ink from Tim Holtz. The roses are from Wild Orchid.
I just found out that each card you link for challenges have to be on a separate post. I am adding separate posts for each one of my challenge cards! Thank you so much for any love you leave! I love reading your comments and would love any suggestions!!

~~~~~I Found Some MOJO!!!~~~~~
I found a little bit of my MOJO and cranked out a couple of cards for some of the challenges I have been missing out on.
My first card is "Best Witches" Tilda! I created her for the Copic Challenge at Simply Scrapping. The recipe called for a Halloween Card and it must use Orange and Black. I used Copics C9, C7, C5, C3, C1, and C00 for Tilda's dress, hat, and shoes. I used the gold Spica pen on the buckles and buttons. I also added straw sticks to the broom but they don't show up to well in this picture. The pumpkins are from Cindy Echtinaw's Design Stamps Of Stamping Scrapping that she operates with her darling husband Kevin and I colored these with YR09, YR07, YR15, and YR12. The sentiment Best Witches is also from Cindy's design stamps. I have to tell ya these are really high quality great stamps! You can get them at her store that she operates with hubby Kevin. The bat is printed and cut with my new Imagine! I adore this machine! I ordered it from the Premier on HSN and received it on September 22nd. My Imagine printed beautifully but would not cut so had to send it back for a replacement. Provocraft had this new Imagine sitting on my front porch two days after I shipped the other one back! Way to Go Provocraft!! I received it about a week ago and have just really started playing with it. Yesterday was the big update day in which the Imagine can now talk to the Gypsy however my Gypsy is at Provocraft as the cord connection was not working and you had to really twist the cord around and hold it without moving to get it to work. Hopefully, my new Gypsy will be here this week as it has been almost two weeks since I shipped it back.
My second card is from "I Hope You'll Dance" and image by Mo Manning and it called Mummu! Isn't she the cutest thing? I just love her! She makes me smile and just feel good all over. I have been running around the house singing "I Hope You'll Dance" all day long! LOL! "I Hope You'll Dance" was created for another Copic Challenge at Simply Scrapping in which the recipe called for coloring with grays, either hair or metal. I thought Mummu's gray hair would be perfect for this and really love the way she turned out! The music frame borders were printed with my Imagine however it was my first Imagine and I had to cut them out by hand! You wouldn't believe how much faster the new Imagine is compared to me spending hours cutting these out by hand! Amazing! I inked them up with Broken China Distress Ink from Tim Holtz. The roses are from Wild Orchid.
My next creation is "Ooooh Santa Baby" and my naughty angel "Lady Raven" is a digi from Kenny K! I absolutely adore his images! I think I have purchased almost all of them and can't wait for him to release more! LOL!! I created this card for a challenge at Color Me Creative Classroom Challenge in which the recipe called for us to color something and show that it is sheer. As you can see on her upper thigh the little skirt coming down is sheer and showing some gorgeous leg! LOL!
Last but not least is "Butterfly Kisses". I used the Imagine to print and cut out the butterfly sentiment and just love how it came out! My image is "Princess tu-tu" from Elisabeth Bell and her images are amazing!! I love them too! The papers are from DCWV the summer glitter stack, I think... The front of the paper pack has come off so I am not sure which one it is.
Thank you so much for stopping by my little blog and please leave a comment! It really makes my day when I find a comment!!
Praying for your family and mine!
Fold of this card
I simply adore this card that Elisabeth Bell has up! Does anyone know what this fold is? I would love to make one but don't know exactly how it is done. Does it have a tag on the inside? If you know please leave me a comment on how to do this fold or a post to a tutorial.
Who Took My Mojo??
Wow! It has been forever since I have added a new post! Darnedest thing! I can't find my mojo! I have looked everywhere...I looked naturally in my craftroom...under papers, punches, Copics, stickles, inks, etc. It isn't anywhere in here! I am sure I left it in here as this was the last place I used it! Stamps are laying everywhere and my Copics are scattered on my desk...I am sure this is where I had it last! My craftroom is in such disarray I am sure no one has come in here...but my MOJO is GONE!! HELP!!! I have about ten Magnolias, four or five Kenny Ks, and a couple of Elizabeth Bell's colored but no cards....my Mojo must have left somewhere in between. I was also watching some of Suzanne Dean's videos on coloring with my Copics, I did take the laptop into the family room so that was the next place I looked. Still no MOJO! I noticed that some of my stamped images I had colored were homework for Suzanne's class so I found my camera and started to snap some shots. Would you believe my camera's battery is dead? Unloading the battery and searching for the charger ......Dang it! I had left the charger in Colorado at the cabin. I know the Mojo isn't at the cabin as I did complete a few cards after returning.....so that option is out! If anyone comes across my MOJO...please...please...please send it back! I am going to see if I can borrow a camera or at the very least go purchase a new charger. I am headed back to the cabin in a few days. Maybe then I can put up a new post.
Have a fun and fabulous week!
Praying for your family and mine!
Woooo Hooooo It Is Friday!
Hi!
I am so glad today is Friday and I am anxiously awaiting the BIG GAME tomorrow! In case you don't know the BIG GAME is the Red River Shoot Out between Oklahoma Sooner (wooo hooo!) and the Texas Longhorn (boo hiss!)! I love this game and pray that my beloved Sooners come through and make hamburger meat out of those 'ole Longhorns!
The card I am posting is "Little Rapunzel" by Elisabeth Bell, I just love this image and have used her on several cards! I am entering her in the Copic Creation Challenge and the Simon Says Challenge. The theme is using orange in a fall scene.
I am so excited as I have sold four of my cards this week! These are my very first cards that I have actually sold! I am so honored that people want to purchase my cards!
Tomorrow, I am going to my first crop ever!! It started today but I could not get there until tomorrow and lasts until Sunday at 3:00 p.m. I am really excited but nervous at the same time! There is so much talent out there I am always afraid of looking inadequate!
My new Cricut Imagine came in last week and I couldn't believe how wonderful the print is! Bummer though mine has to be sent back to Provo Craft as it won't cut! The real Bummer is my Gypsy is being sent back also as it has been having issues with the cord. I have to wiggle it around to get it to make contact and then hold it without moving to get it to work. I was hoping to play with my new Imagine while my Gypsy was gone but now both will be gone. I will be having Cricut withdrawals!
I hope you have a fabulous weekend!
Praying for your family and mine!
Salute to the Great George Blanda!
SALUTE TO GEORGE BLANDA!
I would like to send out special prayers to the family of a really great man that passed away today! We are mourning the loss of the GREAT GEORGE BLANDA!! Not only was George Blanda a remarkable man as he was a Hall of Famer in the National Football League but he was a also a Hall of Famer in humanity!! George played a miraculous twenty-six years in the National Football League beginning his career in Chicago! My middle son was a huge Chicago Bears Fan and was a very gifted kicker from a very early age. He went on to kick in college but my story begins when he was about 10 years old! George Blanda found out that he was a huge Chicago Bears Fan as well as being a gifted kicker. George contacted him to tell him how much hard work it would take to become a talented kicker but that he had faith in him and knew he would make it. He sent my son this autographed card along with a letter of encouragement. George also checked on him off and on to know if he was still kicking and how he was doing. Imagine the Great George Blanda taking the time to check on a young kid for over ten years following his kicking career and offering encouragement. George will be greatly missed in our family and I know across the nation as George offered encouragement to a great many people! Football has lost a great man today! George, we love you and you will be missed!
Praying for your family and mine!
Challenges!
Good Morning to Ya!
I have created a little card for the Copic Creations Challenge Blog which must include shading around your image. I created this cute little bird celebration card for my nephew who is having a special Bird-day! LOL!
I also created a monchromatic card for the challenge at CMC Copic Challenge Blog and used this darling Elisabeth Bell image Little Rapunzel. Isn't she just darling! I colored her with all the E50s.
Chinese Tilda was created for a group that I am forming at Simply Scrapping Crafts for all of you that love the Magnolia images! In this group I am having a challenge in which you must use velum in your project. I used velum behind each of the panes in Tilda's screen. I am pretty happy with the results. What do you think?
This past week has been a serious of ups and downs! I was way up as my brand new Cricut Imagine arrived. I was so excited but at the same time intimidated. I took my new Imagine out of the box after it had been setting for two days, unpacked it, and carefully watching the video and reading the manual began calibrating all of the settings. Wow! It worked! I was so excited! I picked a simple image to print and cut just to get the feel of this new machine and it printed fabulously!! Then waiting for the cut.....nothing, dang it! I read over the manual again....begin recalibrating..... and still nothing! I checked the message board and sure enough another unlucky lady had the same problem. I contacted Provo Craft and they tell me that the cutting board inside the machine is not working. Dang IT! I now have to send my brand new Imagine back to Provo Craft which they will replace but I am looking at several weeks before I get the new one. Dang It! All the while my beloved Gypsy is also gone as it too needed replaced! I was hoping to play with my new Imagine while my beloved Gypsy was gone but now they will both be gone! Dang It! Oh well... at least they will both be good as new in a few weeks.
I am off to Colorado again soon I hope! I have to wait for my email with my return label to return the Imagine before I head out. Just pray I don't miss the gorgeous fall colors!
Big Hugs!
Challenges
Happy Hump Day!!
My first card is created for a challenge at Simply Scrapping Crafts Copic Group. This challenge was coloring with reds and to create a Christmas Card. I created my card using the Magnolia Stamp Christmas Morning Tilda found in my ETSY Shop! I love the Magnolias and use them in my counseling practice! I have listed some of the stamps not used by me or the counselors that I sell to in my ETSY Shop found here! I really hope you can find some little cuties and would love to see what you create also!
I wanted to let everyone know about a COPICs Challenge over at Simply Scrapping Crafts here ! The exciting news is....The Copic Challenge group will be officially starting in October. Each week will be a new challenge and if you complete all the challenges for that month your name will be entered into a random drawing and the prize will be two Copic markers or two Copic Variance refills. Wowzer!!! What an incentive for all of us that absolutely love our COPICs!! Please go to this site and sign up for the Copic Challenge and be sure and mention my name Lisa K sent you and then follow the following instructions for more chances to win!
The RAK will continue until HALLOWEEN NIGHT! Good luck and let us get this group a rock'n! Easy peasy!! So what are waiting for?!
This card I created for another challenge at Icopic Lovers Blog. The recipe for this challenge is to create a card using the fall colors of brown, yellow, and orange. My card has the image Little Rapunzel by Elisabeth Bell. I love her images. Toooo cute! The lucky winner will receive 7 Copic Ciao Markers of your choice! and 1 Copic Color Swatch Book. Have I mentioned that I love my COPICs? LOL!
This card was created for another challenge at Color Creative Classroom here. This week the challenge is to use the feathering technique which I created on this darling Rock Chic image created by Kenny K ! I just love these images it brings out the rock lover in me!! LOL!
I am once again packing and trying to find my way back to the cabin in Colorado! I can't wait since the leaves were just beginning to change when I left. I am hoping to catch the fall colors in all their splendid glory!
September 11, 2010
I would like to take a moment and remember this important date in history for our dear United States of America! September 11th is a day we all remember with a sad heart. I pray continually for our country and all the families that were directly effected by this horrible day. I pray that peace comes into our hearts but that we will never forget what the fanatic terrorists did that day in the name of God! So many terrible acts have been committed in the name of God! I always wonder what goes through someone's mind that leads them to believe that God would ever want one of his most beloved creations to kill another in his name? Please join with me in continuing to pray that instead of the repeated hatred that is committed over and over again we turn to each other with love and remember that we all have the same creator that put each precious soul on this earth!
Wowzer! Can you believe that this entire month of August and part of September have disappeared! I have been at the cabin in Colorado since the first part of August and my how time flies when you are having fun! I have spent most of my time fishin' and we have the freezer ready for dinner before we leave tomorrow!
Today we are going to the Old Miner's Inn in Creede, Colorado one of my favorite spots in all of America! The Old Miner's Inn has the best pizza I have tasted anywhere! My absolute fav is the Mamma Mia! Yummy!! Look at the side of my blog for their button and if you are ever in Southern Colorado this is a little mining town you MUST visit and be sure and go into the Old Miner's Inn and try their fantastic pizza! I have tried them all and you can't go wrong on really anything you order. The atmosphere is wonderful just as it was decades ago with the old time bar!
I haven't gotten much crafting done as I forgot a lot of my crafting supplies including the cord that connects my Gypsy to my Cricut, bummer! I did bring my Copic Markers and went to the Copic Certification Class in Albuquerque, New Mexico where I had a fantastic instructor in Jenni Black! I also met some of the nicest people on the planet! We had a ball and if you look to my sidebar you will see that I am CERTIFIED! Woooo Hoooo! I prefer to call myself Bonified! LOL! Love the movie "Oh Brother Where Art Thou"! If you have ever watched this movie you know that you must be bonified to claim your right to whatever! LOL! Maybe this means I am Certifiably Bonified! (Okay, enough laughing and thinking commit-able!) I learned a lot and cannot wait to get my hands on the Copic Air Brush system since I have finished purchasing all of my Copic markers and now just have to work on the refills! I did make some Thank You cards for all the wonderful crafters that have purchased my Magnolia Stamps from my Ebay and Etsy Shops.
I will be returning home to Texas tomorrow and hopefully will be able to post some of my newest additions in digis from Kenny K Downloads that I am unable to print here! I can't wait to start coloring on these fantastic images! Thanks so much Cheryl for "turning me on" to these great images. I will have a link with my new posts once I get them up!
I am posting a picture is of my DH and my DD at Clear Creek Water Falls above Creede, Colorado on the way to Slumgullion Pass that leads to the beautiful city of Lake City, Colorado. One of the most beautiful drives you will ever take! (Can you tell I love this country? hee hee!)
I hope to add more later but since it has been three weeks since my last post I wanted to catch you up on what I have been doing. My youngest DS decided to stay in the car and catch up on his reading but I just couldn't leave him out of the adventure.
August 23, 2010
Good Colorado Morning!
I have fantastic news!! I just found out that I won the Tool Challenge at Throgh the Craftroom Door Magazine blog and my Wild About You book will be featured in the new issue! Wooo Hooo! I am so surprised and so honored. Thank you Monique Griffin for the fantastic instructions and how to create this darling book. Yes, I did change a few things but the inspiration goes to Monique! If you have never viewed her fabulous creations you can go to her blog MonkeyDoodle and see all of her fantastic designs.
Well, I am back after I have been MIA for weeks! I finally made it to the cabin and it is wonderful. So nice and cool, what a relief! My son, his wife, and my darling granddaughter met my youngest son and I here the first week of August. We had a blast sight seeing and fishing in the local area. We also enjoyed a football game (preseason of course) at the Old Miner's Inn in Creede. If you are ever in Creede you MUST stop in and try their Momma Mia Pizza! OMGosh, that is the BEST pizza on the planet! The atmosphere and the locals are an added plus! My favorite places by far! We then headed off to my favorite city Denver for some shopping! We stayed in Castle Rock and shopped the outlets (spent way toooo much money, shhhhh don't tell hubby!) and then a night out at Casa Bonita (their food is not the best with the exception of sopapillas) and great entertainment! My son and his family returned to Amarillo and Treyce and I headed west for some great scenery on our way back to the cabin. We stopped in SiverThorne for some great food at Chipolte, if you have never tried Chipolte it is wonderful!! Arriving back at the cabin Saturday night we headed to Monte Vista to the Drive-In Theater and watched Despicable Me which was very cute and a beautiful night out. We returned to the cabin with no cell phone and no internet service, it seems someone had cut a fiber optic cable and the southern Colorado area was without service. I did get my cell phone back after some extended time but no internet. Finally, with the help of my generous neighbors Ron and Sherry, I am back in business.
I received an email from my FANTASTIC friend Lisa (The Purple Place) and she told me about a fantastic Challenge going on at iCopic Lover blog for which I made this darling card.
The winner of the challenge receives 7 Ciao Markers! Wowzer! Isn't that fabulous!! I have a new sewing machine and no I have never sewed before and the instructions for setting it up were all in Spanish! Can you believe there was not an English translation in the box. LOL! You should have seen me trying to figure out how to load a bobbin and threading the machine. After much frustration I finally accomplished my task. I added sewing to this card and I don't think it was too bad considering it was my first attempt at sewing. What do you think?
This darling picture of the Thank You Card I made is for Ron and Sherry and all that they have done for me besides being some of the best neighbors ever! Yep, I sewed on this one also. Again, not too bad for the second attempt. I am going to try this on more cards and see if my technique improves. I wish I had brought more thread with me as I have almost every color available at home. (I had great ambitions of becoming a seamstress and even purchased a Disney Embroidery Machine). Oh well, I can always bring more up later. It has been weeks since I have colored any images so this was great fun and I can't wait to get back to more creating.!
Have a fabulous day! Praying for your family and mine!
Big Hugs!
August 12, 2010
Happy Thursday!
I have finally arrived at our cabin in Colorado! My youngest son and I drove up Sunday night and got in about 3:00 a.m. mountain time. Wooo Hooo ! It is about time! My middle son, his wife and my granddaughter came in that night also! We have been out fishin' every single night and I must say it is wonderful! I am running around in my jeans and sweatshirts (I love sweatshirts, they are my favorite piece of clothing)! My two shelties seem to be loving it as well as they are running around snooping and love the lakes and the streams. The day I left Texas it was 101 degrees when I left at 8:00 that evening. It has been hanging around 75 degrees here during the day and flat cold at night sometimes getting down in the 40s! I am loving it!! My poor hubby said today it was 104 degrees with 80% humidity! We never have humidity so I know it is miserable. I really miss him and wish he could be here with us.
Prior to my leaving I spent several hours in my craftroom and made a few cards that I am posting for some challenges at Simply Scrapping Crafts! I made one for the Copics challenge in which we were to color white, one for the Stamp and Scrap Challenge in which you have 5 of something, 3 of something, and 1 of something. For the Card Challenge we were to put a frame around your image. I also got a little rearranging done! Whew!
Card Challenge ~ Tilda with Candy Cane
I cut the frame that doubles for a window with my Nestabilites, Tilda is colored with Copics and stickles added to the candy cane. The Magnolia Trees on the inside are heat embossed with a winter wonderland embossing powder.
Copic Challenge ~ Coloring White
This image is "Tantrum" by Mo Manning colored with Copics. The sidewalk I drew in and colored white with shadows. I used Microsolft Word for the Sentiment and cut it with my circle scallop Nestabilies.
Stamp and Scrap Challenge includes: 5 ~ Shapes
(hearts, diamonds, clubs, spades, and circles for the chips)
3 ~ Layers of paper , 1 ~ Ribbon
I titled this one "Winner Winner Chicken Dinner"
Since I am an avid poker player I truly love this image by Mo Manning and thought it probably looks like me in a few years playing Hold 'Em! LOL!
I tried to bring as much of my craftroom with me as I could as it has been weeks since I have even colored with my Copics! I usually color five or six images a day so I can't wait to get started back on my coloring. While the boys are here though I am busy running around the mountain side fishing, shopping, and sight seeing. We are really having a good time and I feel it is much deserved after this summer from he..!
I am off to update my Gypsy and load of couple of new cartridges and then off to bed for a few winds before we head out again today.
I hope everyone has a fabulous Thursday and as usual I am sending out prayers for my family and yours.
Big Hugs!
August 2, 2010
Hi Friends!
We just returned from the Dallas and Oklahoma City area from being at my dear cousin Sharon's funeral! OMGosh, my heart hurts! It was so painful to lose my dear Uncle but now my cousin. The immediate family seems to be coping but Sharon loved the holidays as much as I do and this will be such a sorrowful time for them! Sharon was like I am and would much rather watch someone else receive a gift than get one herself, that she again like me went overboard on Christmas gifts! She had nine grandchildren all born in four years!! Sharon loved to buy them gifts and could not wait to see their faces as they opened their packages! Do you think the kids enjoyed this? I know I go way overboard and it takes us the rest of the year to recover from all the gifts I purchase at Christmas! I have always had a love of giving, much more than receiving! I think that is the people pleaser in me, I can't stand it if someone is not happy, I consider it my mission to make the whole world smile! Something I really need to work on.
After my Uncle passed away in June, I did ask my cousins if they were going to sell his SUV to the general public, I would love a shot at having first bids on it. Well, after Sharon passed away my cousin Bob called and asked if I would like to purchase it. We had just made it to Oklahoma City from the Dallas area not quite to my daughter's apartment when he called. To make a long story short, we talked about it and the next day drove back to the Dallas area and purchased the SUV. I am so glad to have it and can't wait to head for Colorado and the cabin! It means so much to me that it was my dear Uncle's SUV! We spent the evening with my cousin Bob and his beautiful wife Pam looking at old pictures (they gave me pics that dated back to 1921~) and going over old memories. We all went out to dinner and had a wonderful evening for such a sorrowful time! Once we returned to Bob and Pam's home, Bob discovered that the front and back tags do not match! LOL! Evidently when my darling Uncle put the tags on the SUV and his other car he put one tag from each on each one of them! In Texas you MUST have front and back. Bob could not find the title either so I am in a pickle until I can get it changed. It was funny though and gave us all a good and much needed laugh!
Dang It! The disasters keep on rolling this summer! Before we left for my cousin's funeral we had received a call from my in-laws neighbors and there was an emergency at their house which we still need to go through and sell. Dealing with this new disaster had set me back in going to Colorado and I still have not made it to the cabin in Colorado and it looks like it will be later this week before I can even think about going. I know that is only a couple of days away but Geeeez! This is freaking ridiculous! I had planned to be there by the 2nd as I had Alyssia enrolled in a theater class in Creede! However due to all the mishaps I am not going to make it since that is afterall TODAY!
I had to resign from the Design Team at Colorful Creations due to this mishap and it taking all my time. So boo hoo no time for crafting right now. At least not what I need to dedicate to being on a Design Team. I have been able to color a few images late at night with my Copics so all is not lost! I also ordered the last of my Copics except for the florescent which I hope to add to my collection some day.
Now, I really need to organize the craftroom as I have everything everywhere! LOL! All the disasters have kept me loading and unloading and just stashing stuff wherever I can find to stash it. I also need to load what I am taking to Colorado and figure out what and what not to take.
I have done a few Christmas cards and that is a big woo hoo as I had promised myself at Christmas that I would work on them all year and so far I have four! LOL! Hopefully once I reach the beautiful mountains, things will settle down and I can get back to normal!
Again, sending out prayers for our family and yours!
Big Hugs!
Heavy Heart!
July 26, 2010
Today my heart is so heavy I can hardly stand it! As you know my very dear uncle passed away on June 15th from pancreatic cancer. This morning my dear cousin Bob (we have always been so close and I love him with all my heart) called me to tell me that his precious sister, my darling cousin Sharon (who I also love with all my heart) passed away this morning! Sharon passed away one day short of six weeks of her father! I am so heart broken I truly don't know what to do with myself! We have had plans to spend more time together as she has been caring for her father since the first of the year. Her birthday was five days ago and today she is gone. I know we are not supposed to question God's plan but I can't help myself. There were only six first cousins and now we are down to four. This is unbelievable. I know I should consider myself lucky to have had her in my life for this long but I am selfish, I needed much more time! Maybe it is true that only the good die young! Perhaps it is God's plan to take us at our best when we are truly ready to enter his glorious kingdom. I know Sharon was at her best! She was such a loving caring individual that family meant everything to her! Family has always been so important to me and she shared the same love! If there was a family event Sharon was always there! So was my dear uncle. I can't imagine how we can all get together without them! Perhaps that is our calling to carry on what I know they would want to be continued. They both would want the family to stay close and always stay together as a loving family. Let me tell you people this is one family that knows how to love. This was passed on to us by my very dear Grandparents that no mater what the cost kept us together. Even though some of us are and have been thousands of miles apart we have always remained close if only through the heart. If there is ever a chance for us to be together we are all always there.
Hug your family and keep them close! You never know when the last time to see someone will be! I pray for our family and I pray for yours!
Big Hugs!
Oh My Gosh~! I am so ready for winter! Have yourself a Merry Little Christmas!! LOL! This summer has been a disaster! It all started when I went to see DD and to attend the Scrapbooking Convention in Arlington, TX in the Dallas area ! I had been looking forward to it for months! I was packing for the trip when our refrigerator started going out and Texas was having the tax free weekend over Memorial Day on "Cash for Clunkers" on appliances. We bought the new refrigerator which I have yet to see! I went to see DD and on the way to Dallas at 4:00 a.m. on June 3rd I decided to wreck my car and total it out! I broke a molar tooth 30 minutes later which is still not fixed! My hubby came up and we went ot my cousin's wedding in Gainesville, TX and was able to tell my Dear Uncle with pancreatic cancer goodbye! Heart wrenching! Three days later we were headed back to Gainesville for his funeral. While in Gainesville my computer crashed and is still not repaired. I came back to DD's apartment and DH called to let me know that our new air conditioning unit purchased 2 years ago to the tune of $8,000 had gone out. Three hundred dollars later for labor and mileage it is repaired with the part costing fivc hundred dollars but covered under warranty. Geez! When it rains it pours!! I keep telling myself, "It is only money!!"
Needless to say without a computer my scrapping and posting have come to a screeching halt! I am currently at DD's apartment with only my Copic markers, some stamps, and a borrowed computer to keep me happy! I am grandpuppy sitting with my grandpuppies while DD goes rafting on the Illinois River! She is having a bachlorlette party this weekend. I will head home on Sunday only to return the following Thursday and help with the wedding on July 3rd. Off to Tulsa to see me Darling Niece, husband and three boys. Then back home on the 5th and head for the cabin in southern Colorado until the end of October maybe early November. I hope to get in some much needed fly fishin' and then back home for Thanksgiving and Christmas! Like I said, "Have yourself a Merry Little Christmas! Whew!
I thought things slowed down once your children were grown but Wowzer things speed up even more!
What else can I say other than if money can fix it then it isn't really important! Life is good! We are all safe, happy, and in good health. I wish and pray the same for everyone else out there!~
I hope everyone has a fabulous day!!
Hugs!
Good Morning! Wow! Can't believe today is June 11th! My how time flies when you are having fun! I have been at my DD's apartment for a week now. I have enjoyed being with her so much. I also have my darling Granddaughter, Alyssia with me and my youngest son! Life if Good! My DH will be coming in this evening and I am so anxious to see him and my two shelties! Wednesday was DH's birthday and missed being with him so intend to celebrate his birthday with him and family this evening. Tomorrow we are off, back to the Dallas area for my little cousin's wedding. Also, get to see my uncle who is ill with pancreatic cancer and I would love it if everyone remembered him in their prayers.
I haven't been crafting until today, I went and bought some basics at Joann's and Hobby Lobby. They are both having great sales on paper if you are in need of any. I have been coloring with my Copics everyday as I did bring those with me but nothing else. I got some gorgeous DCWV and K&Co paper at Joann's they had 40% off and then went to Hobby Lobby to get some of their Paper Studio Cardstock which was also 40% off. Wowzer, I sure saved a lot but also spent a lot! LOL! Never can have too much paper though! I love the way the Paper Studio cardstock cuts in the Cricut so really stocked up on that.
Still looking for another car but geez they are expensive! We haven't had a car payment in a long time and trying not to create another but once you really start looking, I want this one or that one and of course with every option known to man!! LOL! I have got to find one soon as I would love to head to the cabin as soon I return from Dallas and OKC! It has been so hot and humid here in OKC, I could use some fresh cool mountain breezes! Heck, I can always use some fresh cool mountain breezes! LOL! Anxious to get my fly rod and out and let those flies it the water for some fresh trout as well! Yummy!
Took my youngest son and granddaughter to see the Oklahoma City Memorial! I remember the day we pulled up to the fence a month after the bombing, my son was only 6 at the time so doesn't remember a lot but did remember the fence and the empty space where the building once stood. They have done such a beautiful job on the memorial it is a fantastic tribute to those that were forever changed on that dreadful day. If you haven't been to see it you need to put it on your must do list. As my darling granddaughter said, "No one can leave here untouched!" She is such a smart little girl. I think what truly got to her was when we mentioned how old the children would have been now. It has been fifteen years or was on the 19th of April. Those children will be forever young in our minds but they would be in their late teens or young adults now. Sobering to think how their young lives ended so abruptly. Pray that our nation never has to go through the acts of terrorism that was forced on us that day or on September 11, 2001! May God Watch over and protect us! ~ Amen
Have a great day everyone and I hope to have a few of my simple but new creations ready to post later today!
Hugs!
Hi and Happy Day Before Hubby's Birthday!! Sorry I have been MIA!! I had a terrible wreck on my trip to Dallas for the Great American Scrapbooking Convention!! Dang it! Totaled out my car so have been in the process of getting everything taken care of. What a headache!! On top of that I was eating a sunflower seed kernel, not the shell but the kernel and one of my molers broke into! Yep, split right down the center long ways and is exposing the nerve! You guessed it that was my LAST nerve!! OUCH!! I am in Oklahoma City with my DD and went to the dentist here, he put a temporary covering on it and was it ever temporary! Swallowed it at dinner that night! OUCH AGAIN!!! Thank God for Wal-Mart! They have this stuff that is what dentists use to cover the area and you can put it on yourself, I got some of this putty and put it over the area and I am good to go until I get home to go to my wonderful dentist!! I can't wait to see him!! ROFLMBO!! Who gets excited to see their dentist!! ME!!
I have a new challenge up at Colorful Creations here
Please come join us! All you have to do is show some love to that special guy or Dad in your life!!
Have a great evening!
Happy Memorial Day!
Good Morning! I would love to wish everyone a Happy Memorial Day and to remember to honor all of our wonderful veteran's that have served our country but are no longer here to honor in person! We have so much to be thankful for and everything that we hold dear we owe to these men and women!
I am posting a new pic of a card I made for my hubby for Father's Day and entering in My Pink Stamper Challenge! He is a "Harley Man" and so was his father before him! He is currently restoring a 1950 Harley Panhead that his father bought new! It is so pretty and we even have the original sales receipt! A picture of this gorgeous motorcycle is posted on the side of my blog.
This past week has been crazy busy for me and this next week is even more hectic!
I am going to the Great American Scrapbooking Convention in Arlington,TX this week and thank you to my cousin Debbie for inviting me to come and go with her! I am going to her house on the 2nd so we can hit the doors when they open on the 3rd! Wooo Hooo! I can't wait! Time has slipped up on me so fast I am not near ready to go! I had planned to go see my daughter, then on to see my uncle, and then to Arlington but since tomorrow is the 1st whew I don't think I can cover that much area in such a small amount of time! Not sure what I am going to do but will make all those stops in some order just may not be the order that I had planned! LOL! I fly better by the seat of my pants anyway! Every time I plan something the planning falls through so it is a really good thing thing that I am spontaneous!!
I hope you will make your way over to a new card challenge I have at Colorful Creations! You can just click on the button on the side of my post! I invite you to come and play along!
Have a fantastic Memorial Day!
Hugs!
Pictures are of the cards I made as examples for my first ever card challenge. The challenge is to use a critter on your card. A critter can be any living creature other than a human. Your critter must be delivering some kind of message! To go to my first ever card challenge at Colorful Creations go here
Wow! I have been so dang busy I can't keep up with myself! What is new about that? Nothing, I have ADHD horribly so I am always into something but this time I have outrun myself! tee hee! I am honored to be on the Design Team at Colorful Creations in charge of the card challenge. I had a challenge to post this morning and I literally worked for two days making cards to go with the challenge. Of course with ADHD unless I am actually using my hands I get distracted very easily so for one of those days I was trying to concentrate on ideas for my cards. Once I began creating it went pretty smoothly. Well, all except my little birdie that says "I'm as Happy as a Bird with a French Fry!" and there I used Just Rite Stamps for the stamping. If you are not familiar with Just Rite stamps they are wonderful as you have a type set that you can set your letters to create your own sentiment. Well, last night I decided to use Just Rite and it literally took me 2 1/2 hours just to set the letters for the sentiment. Then, it didn't really turn out as well as I wanted! Dang it! I should have computer generated it but I wanted to do the entire thing myself. I even made the little french fry with GinaK Kraft cardstock by drawing the french fry, cutting it out, and running it through a paper crimper! I love the little bird and the french fry but the sentiment yuck!! I will have to improve it by computer generating a sentiment! I want to thank everyone at Colorful Creations for being so encouraging and supportive! Now, that this is done I still have four projects to complete for Simply Scrapping Group so it is back to the craftroom.
In fact, I am so proud of myself! Unless it is shipping my items that I sell on Ebay if you would like to see some gorgeous Magnolia Rubber Stamps the link is here
I provide free shipping for all my stamps and I usually ship them the day I receive the order if the Post Office is still open or at the latest the next day. Well, I am in a stamp swap and a card making kit swap! In the midst of all this I have them ready to go first thing in the morning. I procrastinate everything other than my Ebay and Etsy shops and I actually got these done and they are ready to go! Woooo Hooo! To see my Etsy shop go here
Off to my craftroom to get the projects done!
Happy Monday and See you again soon.
Happy Wednesday Everyone!!! This has been a great weekend for me and I hope you had one too! I have my youngest home and we spent the day together shopping, watching movies and him playing his hand made guitar for me. I am posting so pics of his guitar that he made himself! It is gorgeous the pics don't do it justice!
It is so nice to have him home again!
I had a long talk with my husband's cousin Deb today and want to give a big shout out to her! She invited me to come stay with her and go to the Great American Scrapbookers Convention in Arlington, TX June 3-5! I am so excited as I have never been to anything like this before!
Wow! I was laid out for a couple of days with a bad case of the stomach virus! Feeling much better today, I only feel like a freight train hit me. Hopefully I will be back to normal soon.
I did want to post some picks that submitted for the challenges at Simply Scrapping today. The Under the Sea Birthday wishes was for the Stamp Challenge. Purple Lady Tilda was for the Card Challenge in which we had to create our own patterned paper, I created the patterned paper by stamping the flower images with Versamark and then sprinkling clear embossing powder over the stamping and using my heat gun, heat embossed all those lovely flowers. I then took my purple momento ink pad and a sponge and went all over the page, I then used a kleenex to wipe all the ink off of the embossed flowers. I also inked up my ribbon to match the paper! The next one is The End of Summer and I entered this is the Copic Challenge. Thank you so much for looking and any comments are greatly appreciated!
I just heard some bad news Ronnie James Dio died today from stomach cancer! Very sad the rock and roll world is truly going to miss him! Who will ever forget Rainbow!
Also, sadly my friend Lisa from The Purple Place had to step down from the Design Team at Colorful Creations and they have asked me to take her place on the Design Team over the Bi-monthly card challenge. I have given it a lot of thought since I am so very new to this. I have decided to give it a try and see if I can handle it. I thank Brenshevia and Toccara very much for having the belief in me to ask me to join their site. I hope you will join me and join in on the fun! May 15, 2010
Wow! Can you believe it is the 15th of May! Soon there will be the sounds of children running up and down the street enjoying the warm summer months of their vacation from school. Seems like the year has flown by! I don't remember the school year flying by like this when the kids were in school and I was working as a school counselor! LOL!
I am also posting a pic that I entered in a challenge at Colorful Creations. Here is the link to their great site http://colorfulcreations.ning.com/. This card which I call "Daddy's Girl" looks a lot like my daughter when she was small. Her hair was this natural curly and I just couldn't resist making the card for her to give her daddy for his birthday the first part of June. I would really appreciate it if you would leave me a comment and tell me what you think.
I just began entering challenges about a month ago and I am having a ball. Still very intimidated by the amount of talent out there but I jumped in with both feet and have not looked back!
It rained all day today and is supposed to rain all day tomorrow! I love cloudy rainy/snowy days.
Have a great weekend!
Hugs!
