Hi!
Today a very good friend Lisa at The Purple Place encouraged me to start a new blog. I have no idea what I am doing but working on it! My title Paws4Thought comes from my love for animals! I love all animals and rarely pass one that I don't stop to say hello! I created this name as it is the name of my little shop as well. I love paper crafting and began using journals/scrapbooks in my practice, oh my, eighteen years ago. I specialize in children and adolescents and I would have each client start out their therapy by drawing me a picture of their family and something about themselves at that point in time. Every session we added to these journals that were just notebooks and crayons at this point.
My darling husband and children bought me a Cricut Expression for Mother's Day three years ago. I finally took it out of the box around Mother's Day last year! I wanted to try and make some Mother's Day Cards and I was right. I love my Cricut! I haven't looked back since! I began using the Cricut to cut out images that my clients could use in their journals rather than just using crayons. We have really expanded and the journals have turned into scrapbooks of their journey through therapy! I began following the Cricut Messageboard for ideas and have met the nicest people. The knowledge that I gained there has sent me on a journey, I know own two Cricut Creations, Design Studio, three juke boxes, over 100 cartridges and the new Gypsy!
My love as expanded as I am now addicted to my Copic Markers and stamping! This has also been incorporated into my practice especially with the older children! I am currently taking a Copic class from Suzanne Dean of Scrap Bitz and have learned so much! I think the Cricut with Copic markers is a match made in heaven.
